Love Will Never Die

Clare Shaw was just eleven when her brother died. Back then there was very little bereavement support and Clare was left to navigate her grief alone. In her mid-thirties, Clare found a passion for writing; specifically, books to help children during tricky times in their lives. Using her own experience, and a desire to help children going through the same thing, she wrote Love Will Never Die.

Clare wanted to address the subject head on and to use correct terminology. She, very beautifully, uses direct language but in a gentle, child-friendly way. Written entirely in rhyme, the book contains a packet of tissues – giving the child reassurance that it’s ok to cry, and also an envelope for “special things”, while the text offers emotional support throughout.
